Need hints on how to rebody a doll

Now that I have deboxed a doll, I am going

to need some hints on how to rebody.

Am a little apprehensive about trying it.

Worry that I may break the neck post.

So I am asking for hints on the best way

to rebody.

I have this doll.  She is articulated but nothing special.

Barbie Cheerleader

I finally found a doll today at the Thrift Store that

would look better with an articulated body.

She was found nude so I gave her one

of the ladies robes for the picture.

She is a good match for the articulated body

My main question is how do I get off the heads

without breaking the posts.

And are they easy to get back on the new bodies?

Do you think I can do this?

Will post pictures when the operation is done.

Need Help in Identifying

Went to the Thrift Store today.
Found this neat looking car.
It for a Cabbage Patch Doll - Small Size.
It is marked on the bottom.
1984 Original Appalachian ArtWorks Inc.
Manufactured for Coleco Industries
Made in Spain
Coleco filed for bankruptcy in 1988, so it could have
been introduced between 1984-1988.
It's 10 inches in length
7 inches in height (up to the top of the windshield)
7 inches in width
I have a McDonald's/Madame Alexander doll to
show size of  the CPK doll that used this car.
If you turn the crank, the car moves slowly and
plays music.
Missing hood ornament. Maybe other parts?
I have looked on the net, E-Bay and in different toy
catalogs from the 80's and have found nothing.
If you know anything about this item or know someone
who may know something,  please leave a comment.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks to Shelly I now know it is a
"Cabbage Patch Kids Musical Buggy".

Fashionista Sassy - In the Spotlight

Last Friday, Toy's R Us by me had a grand

opening sale. (They took over another empty store and

added a Babies R Us and renovated the whole store)

I was sent in the mail a coupon for $5.00 off any 25.00 purchase.

Also they had an offer of one free 6.99 Barbie outfit with a purchase

of a Barbie doll over $10.00,

So I bought the Bratz Thad and Sassy from In the Spotlight.

This is the free outfit I picked out.

But wait a minute, I had an ulterior motive

for buying Sassy.

I was going to debox her.  Since I couldn't

find any articulated bodies at the Thrift Store, I needed

a lady to model some of the clothes I have.

Most of you know, I have this fear of deboxing dolls.

(I did once for my older daughter's wedding)

This time, I really wanted to debox.

Out of her plastic prison.

Pain in the neck trying to get her out of the packaging.

Finally out of the box.

That wasn't that bad.

Her name is Tina.

She will be the model for any new outfits.

Will I ever debox  another doll?

Only time will tell.

PS.  If you're on Facebook, Like Toy's R Us and you will

get a 20% off coupon on any one regular priced toy item

One time, single use only  Valid till September 4th.

Wonder what I could buy?

Skooter

Made it thru the Hurricane without losing my electricity! :)

Yesterday before Hurricane Irene passed thru

I went to an Estate Sales which listed vintage Barbies.

Got there a few minutes before the sale, but there were

about 25 people all ready waiting in line.

When I got in I went over to the Barbies.

They were priced as much as E-Bay prices.

I only purchased one.

I am a little disappointed with the doll series.

When you look at the picture on the back of her package,  she

has dangling earrings, bracelets and a cute pink

purse.  None of these come with the doll.

Bijou has silver stud earrings and the heart necklace.

Also it shows Bijou with black heels,

she comes with a pink boot type heel.

(Would have rather had the black heels)

It's also strange what dolls go to certain stores.

Toy's R Us had all the other dolls in the series except Bijou.

Wal-Mart only had Bijou.  Target had none of the dolls.

She still has to be cleaned up.  I hate getting old.

My eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

I think I have gotten all the hairs away from her face, and

then I see the pictures I take and there is hair all over

the place. And the dirt spots. Need stronger glasses?

Yes, we did have an earthquake here on the

East Coast.   I was at the computer and my

computer monitor seemed to be wobbling and my chair

moving. At first, I thought I was having a strange

reaction to my medicine that I got yesterday.

I looked around and none of my ladies fell

off the shelves. Didn't give it a second thought,

until my son called and asked if I felt the

earthquake.  I kind of felt relieved to know

it wasn't my medicine.

Hope all is well with everyone in the earthquake's path.

"Fashion Avenue" Lingerie

Yesterday I went to a Barbeque Fundraiser for a

former co-worker's sister who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Tina, my co-worker had called me about the fund-raiser two

weeks ago and told me that someone had donated twenty

Barbie dolls besides all the other

donations they had gotten.

They were going to have a "Tricky Tray"

(a raffle of sorts) where you buy tickets and drop them into

a container of the items you would like to win.

Since I only stayed for about two hours, Tina told me just

to write my name on the back of the tickets.  If I won anything,

she would bring them to me. Today, she brought me

5 dolls, 1 outfit and a hair dryer.

So I thought I would post the outfit and one of the dolls today.

Wonder if they will make any other outfits for him?

Saw many new dolls on the shelves.

The Heart 4 Heart dolls, Disney VIP dolls (Sharpay and Alex only),

New Bratz dolls are out also.
